2005-2007
A factional struggle emerged within the Democratic Socialist Perspective (formerly the Democratic Socialist Party) over whether to build a “broad” Socialist Alliance or the DSP as a Marxist party as its core strategic goal. Leninist Party Faction (LPF) declared, with John as a key leader. Doug Lorimer, Max Lane, Allen Myers and Helen Jarvis were also central leaders.
